JCIL Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services had a fantastic workshop this past weekend on Saturday, June 4th. We hosted approximately 25 interpreters and educators from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi. Our speaker, Jimmy Beldon, was flown in from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to present on two very relevant topics in the interpreting field. Jimmy Beldon is the Vice-President of RID, Inc. (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) and an interpreter trainer for CSD located in South Dakota. Everyone that attended enjoyed the presenter, the facility, and the company of others. The workshop was sponsored by the generous contributions from the Postsecondary Education Consortium through the Tennessee Outreach & Technical Assistance Center, SERITC (Southeast Regional Interpreting Training Consortium), and Union University. We extend our deepest thanks to our sponsors. Thank you to all that attended and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.
