Edward Mitchell, using the "EQUALIZER" rod and reel designed by Chuck Byrd, won in the biggest fish and biggest bass categories.
Working with Edward, Chuck designed this fishing equipment to meet his needs. It works as a "casting arm" enabling a fisherman with quadriplegia to cast and retrieve the fishing line.

Oneal Lake DIRECTIONS
On June 7, 2008 the 4th Annual JCIL/VA FISHING RODEO was hosted by the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge (Mike Chouinard and Herbert Barcroft) at Oneal Lake in Brownsville, Tennessee. Our thanks to the contributors, participants and congratulations to winners. And a special thanks to the Haywood County/Brownsville Rescue Squad and Fire Department, Graham's Foods, Chuck Byrd, Don Devaul, Paul Jones, Jeff Strong and our others volunteers. Prizes were made possible by Donna's Bait and Tackle on Hwy 76 just off I-40 in Brownsville, TN.
