Home Ownership Initiative Assisting individuals with disabilities, local banks and communithy housing providers to eliminate barriers as well as providing input which is shaping public policy. In promoting accessible housing and home ownership opportunities, JCIL continues to work with individuals and other agencies such as Affordable Housing, Community Development and area banks and realtors. This year we exceeded our goal by assisting 12 individuals in becoming homeowners. Home Modifications JCIL realizes the importance of an accessible home to the consumer. If a consumer cannot get out of the house little opportunity awaits them. In response to this need JCIL maintains a home modification program. These modifications enable consumers to live more independently in their own homes rather than a nursing home or institution and also enable consumers to access community activities as well as educational and vocational opportunities.  BACK
